ChinaExposure's Founder Wins "Fast Track Signature Award"
Vivian Wang Honored at OCA of Women Business Owners
New York - March 10, 2004 - Vivian Wang, president of ChinaExposure Inc., is the proud winner of the 2003 Fast Track Signature Award from the OCA Women Business Owners. The Signature Award recognizes the individuality of a woman who has left her own unique mark ?her "signature" on the business community.
OCA is a national organization dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans in the United States.
Founded in 1973 as the Organization of Chinese Americans, OCA aims to embrace the hopes and aspirations of nearly 13 million Asian Pacific Americans in the United States. Through its dynamic programs, the organization helps women business owners to grow, economically, professionally, socially and politically. The Signature Award Gala is an event where women inspire the audience to create success for themselves.
"I am thrilled and honored to be a recipient of this prestigious award," said Wang. "When I first started ChinaExposure, I never dreamed that it would grow as fast as it did and develop such an enormous following."
ChinaExposure.com offers Chinese educational and cultural products. In fact, Wang and her partners personally select each and every item, looking specifically for high-quality items from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong that are not available locally in New York's Chinatown. Her most popular products include Chinese traditional clothings, as well as arts & crafts products.
The concept of ChinaExposure first emerged during outings with her Asian American friends, Wang was approached by many people who had adopted children from China and wished to know more about Chinese culture. It seemed that all these families had two things in common: the need for easily accessible, high-quality products to teach their children about Chinese heritage and the language of their ancestors and a forum in which to discuss the issues of what it means to be Chinese living in a Western culture. Impressed and moved by their enthusiasm, Wang took the plunge and started her own e-business. Thus, ChinaExposure was born in September of 2002.
Today ChinaExposure.com is thriving in its online environment, and Wang is busy making plans to expand the business to the educational market.

ChinaExposure was created to satisfy the increasing demand among families who had adopted children from China, for educational and cultural materials. It provides resources to both teach and learn about Chinese culture. Upon celebrating its first anniversary, it became clear that ChinaExposure was needed to fulfill the needs of a much broader virtual community, which included not only adoptive families, but also newly immigrated Chinese, Chinese American, and anyone who is interested in Chinese culture.
